Sustainable Tuna Partnership
The Sustainable Tuna Partnership 2 program carries on the progress made throughout STP 1 and the Partnership Program Toward Sustainable Tuna in empowering handline yellowfin tuna fishers and promoting sustainable fishing practices. STP 2 also lobbies for harvest control rules and regulations across the Western and Central Pacific.
What We Do
Lobbying with neighboring nations of the Western and Central Pacific for policies to safeguard our shared tuna stocks.
Supporting the development, harmonization and rollout of local and national tuna management plans.
Organizing handline yellowfin tuna fishers to better manage the yellowfin tuna fisheries of the Lagonoy Gulf and Occidental Mindoro.
Enhancing local livelihoods to help fishers earn more.
Employing technology to better monitor yellowfin tuna fisheries.
Exploring innovative ways to safeguard communities from the current climate crisis
