Catch-to-Cash, part of WWF-Philippines’ Sustainable Tuna Program, promotes sustainable fishing through traceability, enabling tuna to be tracked from capture to sale. The project incentivizes small-scale fishers to report real-time catch data using NFC tagging and GPS transponders. This ensures compliance with sustainable quotas, deters illegal fishing, and fosters ethical practices. By rewarding fishers for responsible actions, Catch-to-Cash safeguards marine resources, strengthens livelihoods, and builds a transparent supply chain. As demand for sustainable seafood grows, the initiative exemplifies how technology and stewardship can transform the industry for a sustainable future.
