Work towards building sustainable tuna fisheries began with the launch of the Partnership Program Towards Sustainable Tuna (PPTST). Worked with 28 communities along Mindoro Strait.

WWF-Philippines launches a Fisheries Improvement Project in the Lagonoy Gulf and Mindoro Strait. Groundwork towards MSC certification begins.

Founded the Occidental Mindoro Federation of Tuna Fishers Association (OMFTFA).

Founded the Gulf of Lagonoy Tuna Fishers Federation, Inc. (GLTFFI).

The Lagonoy Gulf IFARMC was first formed, convened and strengthened.

Launched the Sustainable Tuna Partnership 1 program. Assisted in organizing seven Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Councils (FARMCs) across Mindoro.

Launched the Lagonoy Gulf Tuna Management Plan.

Produced the award-winning short film Nonoy and the Sea Monster, shot on location in Catanduanes.

Launched the Mindoro Tuna Management Plan.

Founded the Philippine Tuna Handline Partnership (PTHP) – a coalition of small-scale tuna fisherfolk and tuna processors that serve as a client group through which fishers could ship their products to local and international markets.

PTHP is awarded the first ever Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Certification in the Philippines in an important milestone towards sustainable fisheries.
